Nick Saban is notoriously hard to please when it comes to his team’s performance on the football field.
After the Crimson Tide’s second spring scrimmage of the year on Saturday, the Alabama head coach wasn’t too happy with the way his squad performed.
According to multiple Alabama insiders, Saban said he was frustrated by penalties and turnovers from his offensive unit.

Saban later clarified that he’s not “disappointed” in his team’s play — he’s just hoping to establish some more consistency before the start of the 2022 season.
“We have guys that play really, really well, and then we’ve got guys that need to learn how to play well on a consistent basis,”Saban said, per Crimson Tide insider Charlie Potter. “I would say that probably sums up where we are. I don’t wanna sound like I’m disappointed in any way.”
“I think some of the players, especially the younger players, gotta understand how you practice kind of becomes a reality for you,” he continued.
With the No. 2 overall recruiting class and the return of superstar QB Bryce Young, the Crimson Tide are title favorites heading into the 2022 season. Saban no doubt intends to fulfill those expectations in his 16th season as head coach in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama will host its official spring game on April 16.
