The Michigan football program put its rivalry with Ohio State aside to pay its respect to former Buckeyes star Dwayne Haskins.
Following the death of the 24-year-old quarterback on Saturday, the Wolverines responded to a tribute message from the Ohio State program.
“Gone far too soon. Rest In Peace,” the team’s official Twitter account wrote.

Haskins went 1-0 as a starter in the Michigan rivalry, routing the then-No. 4 Wolverines with a 62-39 score in 2018. In that matchup, the legendary Ohio State QB threw for 396 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Haskins was killed on Saturday morning when he was struck by a vehicle on I-595 in South Florida. The former No. 15 overall pick was reportedly in the area to participate in workouts with a few of his Pittsburgh Steelers teammates. He was heading into his second season with the organization before his tragic passing.
Our thoughts go out to the Haskins family and all those close to him during this incredibly difficult time.
