Getting a rare national showcase, the Memphis Grizzlies earned a 132-120 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on ESPN.
With Ja Morant sidelined, the Grizzlies overcome 43 points from Kyrie Irving and 35 from Kevin Durant to notch its 50th win of the season. After displaying their depth in a statement victory, they celebrated together.
Malika Andrews attempted to interview guard Desmond Bane, who earned the post-game spotlight by submitting 23 points, five assists, and four boards while setting the franchise record for most three-pointers made in a season.
But first, he’d shared the stage with his teammates, who rushed him in pure jubilation.
“We roll deep,” Bane declared as the roster swarmed him right in front of ESPN’s cameras.

He’s certainly not wrong. Bane was one of seven players to post double-digit points, with De’Anthony Melton matching his 23 off the bench and Dillon Brooks scoring 21 points. Not among those seven, Steven Adams played his role to perfection with 11 rebounds and five assists.
After winning seven of their last nine games, the Grizzlies have gained a two-game lead over the Golden Warriors for second place in the Western Conference standings. Along with challenging for the top spot as the NBA’s most fun team, Memphis is emerging as a serious title contender that deserves more TV time.
