It’s been a while since Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson was a guest on ESPN. But the basketball icon is set to make his return to one of their top shows next week.
On Friday, ESPN announced that Magic will be a guest on First Take with Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim. Per the announcement he will be on for the entire first hour of the debate show.
No doubt Magic and Stephen A. will have a lot to discuss regarding the current state of the Lakers. LA are 31-45 and in a dogfight just for that 10th seed and final spot in the play-in round.
ESPN has been teasing Magic’s return to First Take for some time now. Stephen A. has teased that Magic “isn’t ready” for what he’s got in store for him when they go head-to-head next week.

There’s little doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers will be the major talking point when Magic Johnson joins the set. The Lakers have lost four games in a row with their last two losses combing by double digits.
Two more Lakers games will have come and gone by Monday, and the Lakers might be effectively out of contention by then.
But when Magic Johnson comes to the table, soundbites are guaranteed. We’re all looking forward to seeing him and Stephen A. Smith square up next week.
