The Iowa–Nebraska rivalry game may take place on the football field once a year, but for the fans and players it’s usually a year-round rivalry. A new commercial is pretty strong proof of that.
Last week, a new commercial for an Iowa City restaurant was released, starring Iowa stars Dane Belton and Tyler Goodson. The commercial is thanks to the NCAA’s new NIL policies, and they mention that alongside Iowa kicker Keith Duncan.
At the end of the spot, Duncan boasts that if you “ask Nebraska,” everyone loves him. He then blows kisses at the camera to end the commercial.
The kisses blown was in reference to what he did in the 2019 Iowa-Nebraska game. Duncan hit the game-winning field goal of that game, ending Nebraska’s campaign with another losing season.

The Iowa-Nebraska rivalry has been pretty one-sided in recent years. Iowa has won seven of the last eight meetings, including the last six.
But that hasn’t stopped the two sides from continuously chirping at one-another on social media.
Back in July, the two teams went back and forth over a graphic Nebraska made in reference to a recent news report about sharks.

The next edition of the Iowa-Nebraska rivalry is slated for November 26. It will be at Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium in Lincoln and will air on the Big Ten Network.
There will no doubt be plenty of fireworks before then.
