On Saturday morning, ESPN’s College GameDay made its triumphant return to the screen for the first weekend of football.
Just a week ago, ESPN announced that beloved analyst Lee Corso would be back on set for the 2021 college football season. Corso, 86, did the 2020 season from home due to the pandemic.
Well, when the show kicked off this morning, the former college football coach took his familiar spot next to Rece Davis and Kirk Herbstreit. Of course, the fans watching from home were thrilled to see Corso back on their screens.
Here’s some of the reaction from around social media.

The college football season just wasn’t the same when Lee Corso wasn’t on campus with the GameDay crew. He and Kirk Herbstreit have developed an incredible bond that took a backseat during the 2020 season.
While the GameDay crew did everything they could to produce a strong show from Corso’s back yard, it doesn’t really compare to the real thing.
The first weekend of college football features five games – highlighted by a Big Ten showdown between Nebraska and Illinois. That game kicks off at 1:20 p.m. ET on FOX.
We’ll just have to wait and see which headgear pick Corso rolls with today.
