DK Metcalf has offered no indication that he wants to play elsewhere, but the wide receiver has nevertheless become a popular speculative trade candidate since the Seattle Seahawks sent quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos and cut All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner.
On Wednesday, a different star wideout got shipped out of town. In a sudden and unexpected move, the Kansas City Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. That blockbuster created a void on the depth chart, compelling the rumor mill to fill it with Metcalf’s name.
Per Jack Settleman of Snapback Sports, Kansas City inquired about Metcalf and fellow Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett. The Green Bay Packers, who just dealt Davante Adams, reached out as well.
Sources tell me the Packers and Chiefs have inquired about DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett’s availability.
Seattle is open to listening to offers for their star WRs but nothing is imminent.

How does Metcalf feel about potentially joining forces with an MVP quarterback? Based on his latest tweet, he’s at least not enthused about teaming up with Patrick Mahomes in Arrowhead.
When a far told him the door is open in Kansas City, Metcalf responded, “Better close it, heard it get cold at night.”

That could rule out the Chiefs … unless the 24-year-old merely couldn’t resist the set-up for a solid dad joke.
Metcalf has one year remaining on his rookie contract, meaning he could soon challenge the mega-deals Adams and Hill signed after changing places. We’ll have to see who’s willing to sign the check.
