San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Deebo Samuel is reportedly set to skip out on offseason programs as he and the Niners organization work on an ongoing contract dispute.
While the 49ers still have some time to get a deal done, other rumors indicate that Samuel may “want out” of San Francisco ahead of the 2022 season.
On Tuesday, Deebo’s brother, Tyquan Samuel, stoked this speculation fire on Facebook.
“Don’t worry we asking for a trade,” he said in the comments section of a post about his brother’s NFL future.
“He won’t be a 49er. That’s all that matters,” he later doubled down.

Samuel is looking for a big-time payday after a breakout season that saw him carry the Niners to an NFC Championship game this past season. As one of the most dangerous and versatile weapons in the NFL, the 26-year-old wideout feels he deserves an elite contract — especially considering the massive deals for some of his wide receiver colleagues earlier this offseason.
Samuel is set to make $4.9 million on the fourth and final year of his rookie contract with the 49ers this coming season.
If Samuel truly wants out of San Francisco before the start of the 2022 season, the Niners may be forced to work a trade deal ahead of this month’s draft.
