The crowd at today’s Oakland Athletics vs. Baltimore Orioles game is lackluster to say the least.
With the game already underway at Oakland’s RingCentral Coliseum, nearly every seat in the stadium is vacant.

In 2021, the Athletics ended the year with a third-place finish in the AL West — notching an 86-76 record on the season. The team’s last playoff series win came in with a victory over the Chicago Cubs in a 2020 Wild Card series. Before that, their last postseason series victory came in 2006.
Today’s opponent certainly didn’t help drive fans into the stands for this matchup. Last year, the Orioles finished in a tie for dead last for the worst record in the MLB (52-110). Though the 2022 season has just begun, the Baltimore franchise currently holds one of the worst records in the league at 3-7.
The A’s on the other hand have started their 2022 campaign with a 6-5 winning record. If they continue to get results, perhaps their stadium will begin to fill out for home games.
The Orioles currently lead 1-0 in the bottom of the third.
