Colin Kaepernick continues to stay fresh while vying for an NFL workout.
Though the quarterback is still hoping to receive a formal audition, he practiced with two former NFL stars on Tuesday.
Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson posted a photo on Twitter of him posing on a football field with Kaepernick and former quarterback Michael Vick. Kaepernick’s comment confirmed that the trio worked out together.

Johnson, who registered 11,059 receiving yards, played his last NFL game in 2011. The man once known as Ochocinco later went to the Canadian Football League and Mexico’s Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional.
Kaepernick, who became a polarizing figure when protesting police brutality, hopes to get his first NFL opportunity since 2016. Vick has a long gap on his player page under far different circumstances. The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback spent 21 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to his involvement in a dog fighting ring.
After missing two seasons, Vick received a second chance with the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent the 2009 season on the bench before playing some of the best football of his career the following year.
The NFL appears to view opposing racism as a bigger crime, as Kaepernick has spent the last five years out of the game. Much like Vick, he took the league by storm as a dual-threat star capable of burning defenses with a strong arm and game-changing speed.
Kaepernick has worked out with Tyler Lockett and held an impromptu throwing halftime during halftime of Michigan’s spring game. He’s intent on pursuing an NFL comeback, but it’s unclear if any team will give him a genuine tryout.
