Looking ahead to Week 2 of the college football season, there are a number of interesting games on the docket.
The most marquee non-conference context is Oregon at Ohio State on Saturday at noon. The cancelled game between the Ducks and Buckeyes was one of the most exciting matchups we lost due to COVID in 2020.
Meanwhile, Michigan, Ohio State’s biggest rival, is also hosting a Pac-12 foe. The Washington Huskies, fresh off a shocking 13-7 loss to Montana on Saturday, will travel to Ann Arbor for a primetime game.
Elsewhere, Iowa State is hosting rival Iowa, and ESPN’s College GameDay will be in attendance. Missouri-Kentucky, Utah-BYU, Tennessee-Pitt and Texas-Arkansas are some of the other games we’ve got an eye on.
The early betting lines for Week 2 can be seen below. Here’s what Vegas has for some of the bigger games:
- Ohio State (-13) over Oregon
- Iowa State (-4) over Iowa
- Michigan (-5) over Washington
- Texas (-6) over Arkansas
- Pitt (-1) over Tennessee
- Utah (-6) over BYU
- Kentucky (-3 1/2) over Missouri

There are no Thursday night games this week, thanks to the NFL season opener, so Week 2 will begin on Friday with four games before a loaded Saturday slate.
Be sure to look out for our staff picks later in the week.
