A monstrous fourth quarter effort proved to be the difference in Georgia’s national championship victory over Alabama on Monday night. Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett threw two touchdowns to give the Bulldogs a late advantage and ultimately seal the deal.
While the Georgia fanbase was thrilled to see how the fourth quarter unfolded, the Alabama faithful felt the complete opposite. Some Crimson Tide fans chose to direct their frustrations at defensive back Khyree Jackson.
Jackson had a particularly rough drive in the fourth quarter on the drive that gave Georgia the lead. He committed a clear pass interference penalty, even though he admittedly save a touchdown, on the second play of the drive and then was the targeted defender on a 40-yard scoring strike from Bennett to Bulldogs receiver Adonai Mitchell.
Although the drive wasn’t the best showing from Jackson, he recognized that the few bad plays don’t define him as a player. He took to social media to make that message clear and call out so-called Alabama fans that have ridiculed him over the last 12 hours.
“2 plays don’t define me, just gotta be better,” Jackson wrote on Twitter early Tuesday morning. “Keep the same energy next season please ‘Fans.’”

Jackson, a former JUCO stand out at Eastern Mississippi Community College, committed to Alabama in Dec. of 2020, making this his first season with the Crimson Tide. He spent most of his time on special teams and record just seven total tackles during the course of the year.
Although Monday wasn’t his brightest moment, Jackson is just a junior and should get the chance to redeem himself next year when Alabama projects to be back in the mix for a national championship.
