There were plenty of Big Ten and SEC players that came off the board during the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. None of the players selected, however, were from the Big 12.
Over the years, Oklahoma has produced a plethora of first-round picks, such as CeeDee Lamb, Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. That wasn’t the case this year.
On the flip side, it’s important to note that multiple players from the Big 12 are expected to come off the board on Day 2 of the draft.
For starters, Iowa State running back Breece Hall is expected to be an early second-round pick. He finished his college career with 3,941 rushing yards and 56 total touchdowns.
Oklahoma defensive lineman Perrion Winfrey is also expected to be a second-round pick. Winfrey isn’t the only player from the Sooners expected to come off the board this Friday, as Nik Bonitto and Brian Asamoah also have Day 2 grades.
