There comes a time in a dad’s life when his son can finally beat him in a sport. That hasn’t happened yet for LeBron James and Bronny.
During an episode of HBO’s The Shop, Gunna asked LeBron is Bronny can beat him on the court yet. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar didn’t hesitate with a resounding no.
“Nah, he can’t beat me,” he said.
Gunna asked LeBron on HBO’s The Shop if his son Bronny could beat him on the basketball court:
“Nah, he can’t beat me.”

This shouldn’t be a surprise. LeBron James is still playing like an MVP candidate. Bronny, meanwhile, is still playing high school basketball. Give it 10 years and Bronny might finally be able to beat LeBron in a one-on-one game.
LeBron, meanwhile, wants to play his final season with Bronny. He’s said it multiple times.
“My last year will be played with my son,” James said, via USA Today. “Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”

The reality is LeBron probably isn’t going to finish out his career in Los Angeles. He’s going to want to go where his son is playing. That could be the Lakers. But they might be incentivized to move on from LeBron and start a rebuild this offseason.
