Later today, for the first time in two-and-a-half years, Klay Thompson will play in an NBA game.
Thompson last saw action on June 13, 2019 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. He tore his ACL that night, and missed the entire 2019-20 season while recovering from that injury.
Thompson then sat out all of 2020-21 with a torn Achilles. It has been a long road back for the sharpshooting two-way star, but tonight he’ll make his long-awaited return.
Fans and players alike are justifiably excited about having Thompson back. LeBron James expressed his feelings on Twitter earlier today.

Without Thompson, the Warriors have jumped out to a 29-9 record and are in second place in the Western Conference. It will take some time for Klay to reacclimate himself, and we’re not expecting the “Splash Brothers” to be in full effect just yet, but having the five-time All-Star back in the rotation will be a tremendous boost.
Thompson will make his season debut against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
