Las Vegas Raiders 2025 NFL Draft: Best QB Target in First Three Rounds

December 13, 2024 by Raiders Nation

The Las Vegas Raiders will enter the 2025 NFL Draft as one of the more quarterback-needy teams, aiming to secure a top-tier prospect to lead their offense. With scrutiny surrounding their previous draft strategy, the pressure is on for the Raiders to make the right move this time.

While the 2025 draft class may not have the same hype as the previous year, exciting talent is still available. As the Raiders prepare to make their selection, all eyes are on them to find the future face of their franchise.

R1 P1: Shedeur Sanders

Deion Sanders won’t stop Las Vegas from drafting his son. What better team to draft Shedeur Sanders than the Raiders, a team in desperate need of a quarterback shakeup? Just something about Sanders in a black and silver uniform adds appeal to the fit here, but the Colorado star’s talent and confidence will shake things up and add some spice to things in Las Vegas.

As one of the more clutch quarterbacks entering the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders’ ability to scramble and make plays downfield will likely lead him to be the top QB in the draft. He holds the best NFL Las Vegas odds from FanDuel to be drafted first.

R2 P33:  Carson Beck

If the Raiders don’t select a QB with their first pick, they have their sights set on securing a first-round talent like Carson Beck at the top of the second round.

However, if the opportunity presents itself, Garrett Nussmeier from LSU is an intriguing option for Las Vegas. Nussmeier’s strong arm and football IQ make him a promising prospect. He has shown the ability to make accurate throws and read defenses effectively. What sets Nussmeier apart is his connection with his former college teammate, Brock Bowers.

The chemistry between them could allow Nussmeier to showcase his precision and accuracy at the NFL level. Teaming up with Bowers in the silver and black could be a dynamic duo that excites the Raiders’ offense.

R3 P67: Garrett Nussmeier

With two third-round picks, the Raiders can explore intriguing options late on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Should they opt to address the quarterback position later in the draft, Garrett Nussmeier emerges as an enticing choice.

Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 200 pounds, this junior quarterback showcased his skills at LSU, throwing for an impressive 3,735 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in the season. Nussmeier’s arm talent, precise footwork, and command of the offense have attracted attention from NFL teams. While he may require some development due to his limited experience as a starter, his potential makes him a compelling prospect worth considering for the Raiders’ roster.

R3 P71: Jaxson Dart

Don’t be surprised if the Raiders draft two quarterbacks in this year’s draft—Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 225 pounds, Dart possesses good NFL quarterback size and excels in the RPO game with his athleticism.

Although his arm strength may not be ideal, he compensates with his flexibility in delivering the ball. Dart could be a perfect fit for the Raiders as a dual-threat quarterback with toughness. Plus, playing close to his home state of Utah in Vegas adds an extra layer of appeal.
