Earlier this year, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray threw the NFL world into a frenzy when he removed all traces of connection with the Arizona organization from his social media. Soon after this Instagram scrubbing, the former No. 1 pick put out a lengthy statement saying he wanted a big-time contract extension.
Murray and the Cardinals appear to have mended that relationship since. On multiple occasions this offseason, the 24-year-old quarterback has expressed his excitement to return to Arizona.
“I’m an Arizona Cardinal,” Murray said, per Arizona insider Mark McClune. “I’ve done nothing but give my all to the Cardinals and will continue to do that. So I’m not really too worried about it.”
In fact, Murray says his social media scrub was never about the Cardinals organization. The young QB has since put the photos back up on Instagram.
“No that was — like I said, if you’re a kid my age, you’re used to like … people take off all of their — that’s just a thing,” Murray explained. “Honestly, like I said, I took everything off of it, beside one picture. So it had nothing to do with the Cardinals or anything like that.”

Murray is trying to block out the noise as he heads into his fourth season with the Cardinals franchise.
“Obviously, you’ve got the whole social media stuff and then coming out with whatever it is about the future and stuff like that,” Murray said. “But honestly, I’m happy where I’m at. I’m just being where my feet are and keeping football the main thing — like I always have.”
