Detroit owns the No. 2 overall pick. That makes five teams in the top 10 on the visit list for Hamilton, one of the draft’s top prospects.

The NFL world took to Twitter to react to this news.
Some aren’t too convinced of Hamilton as a top-tier prospect.
“Crazy that he won’t even go top 10,” one fan wrote.
Drafting a safety at #2 would be crazy 😭 https://t.co/0z2JLiyjJT

Others feel he’s a real-deal talent in this year’s defense-heavy class.
“Don’t overthink it. He’s the guy at 2 @Lions,” one wrote.
“Outstanding football player regardless what he ran at his Pro Day. I’ll take the 4.59 at the combine. That’s good enough for me. Hamilton is quick, rangy, versatile and instinctive. Ball and tracking skills are also exceptional. I’ll take him any day, twice on Sunday,” another added.

5 teams picking in the top 10 have scheduled a visit with Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton. Only 8 different teams have top 10 picks (Jets, Giants each have two selections).
Hard to imagine Hamilton falls to the Commanders at 11, folks https://t.co/v7UPrNOc72

Through three seasons in South Bend, Hamilton proved himself as one of the elite safety talents at the collegiate level. Unfortunately, his final season with the Fighting Irish was cut short by an ACL tear midway through the 2021 campaign — leading many draft analyst to wonder if he’s lost a step heading into his first NFL season.
Hamilton’s 4.59 40-yard dash time at this year’s Scouting Combine was slower than expected, but he was able to lower it to 4.56 at his Notre Dame pro day. Despite these somewhat concerning times, Hamilton’s sideline-to-sideline range and NFL-caliber physicality should keep him in the running as at least a top-10 pick in this year’s draft.
