Last summer, Kendrick Perkins suggested that Giannis Antetokounmpo was more of “a Robin” than a Batman.
Tonight, Perkins said the “Greak Freek” was the best player in the NBA.
Perkins’ statement came after Giannis posted 44 points (on 14-of-21 shooting and 15-of-19 free throws) and 14 rebounds in the Bucks’ 120-119 overtime win over the Nets. The two-time MVP sent the game to an extra session with a three-pointer and then won it with two free throws in the final seconds of OT.
“I think it’s safe to say that Giannis has taken over the throne of being the BEST PLAYER in the NBA!!! Carry the hell on… #RealMambaMentality,” Perkins wrote.

It’s tough to argue with Perk here. Coming off an NBA championship, Giannis has been brilliant once again.
The Bucks, meanwhile, are 48-28 and one-half game out of first place in the Eastern Conference. They are battling with the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics for the No. 1 seed and homefield advantage throughout the upcoming playoffs.
