The 2022 Masters gets underway on Thursday, but the annual Champions Dinner is tonight, and Jordan Spieth seems excited.
Hideki Matsuyama, last year’s Masters winner, gets to pick the menu for this year’s Champions Dinner. The spread was revealed earlier today, and needless to say, it’s impressive.
Matsuyama chose assorted sushi, sashimi and nigiri, as well as yakitori chicken skewers for his appetizers. Following that is the main course–miso-glazed black cod and Miyazaki Wagyu, with mushrooms and vegetables.
The meal will be capped off by Japanese strawberry shortcake for dessert. Spieth told reporters today that he plans on “getting seconds” of everything and added that he wants to “shake [Matsuyama’s] hand” and thank him for his choices.

We have to agree with Spieth here. Matsuyama’s dinner seems absolutely delectable, and we’re pretty jealous of everybody who gets to consume it.
Spieth, the 2015 Masters winner, didn’t put together a bad spread himself at the 2016 Champions Dinner, opting for Texas barbecue with all the fixings, and a dessert of warm chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream.
That sounds much better than what Bubba Watson served after both of his Masters victories.
