The main CBS broadcasting team will look and sound a little different on this NFL Sunday. Jim Nantz won’t be in his usual spot in the booth.
On Friday, it was reported that Nantz has been placed in health and safety protocols for COVID-19. As a result, he won’t work this weekend.
Tom McCarthy, who mans the play-by-play role for another CBS crew, will fill-in for Nantz alongside Tony Romo.
The pair will broadcast Bucs-Panthers at 4:25 p.m. ET, with Tracy Wolfson in her usual spot on the sideline.
Tom McCarthy will work with Tony Romo on the Tampa Bay-Carolina game this Sunday for CBS.
Jim Nantz will be out this week due to health & safety protocols.

Hopefully Nantz is doing well and will be back soon. We’d expect him to return to the booth for the wild card round next weekend.
In the meantime, McCarthy and Romo will call a relatively meaningless game this afternoon. The Panthers are 5-11 with nothing to play for, while the Bucs have already wrapped up the NFC South.
All they are fighting for is seeding for next week.
