Will Dak Prescott be ready in time for Week 1 of the regular season? That’s the $40 million question in Dallas right now
Prescott has been dealing with a shoulder strain for several weeks. ESPN insider Adam Schefter scared NFL fans last week when he said “He [Prescott] is not fully back, he may not be back all season long.”
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport calmed down Dallas Cowboys fans with his latest report, stating “He’s going to be fine.”
Since there are so many conflicting reports on Prescott’s shoulder right now, it’s only fitting that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones shares his thoughts on the situation. Thankfully, it sounds like Prescott is going to be OK for Week 1.
“He’s there…when he wants to right now he can let it go.” Jones said when asked if he’s nervous about Prescott’s recovery.
Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said he’s not nervous at all about Dak Prescott’s shoulder recovery. “He’s there…When he wants to right now he can let it go.” Jones says the strain Dak suffered would not have pulled him out of a game or prevented him from playing the following week.

Judging by Jones’ recent comments, Prescott should suit up for the Cowboys’ matchup with the Buccaneers.
The Cowboys signed Prescott to a four-year extension worth $160 million earlier this offseason. They’re going to need him at 100 percent if they’re going to be contenders this fall.
Before the Cowboys can make a decision on Prescott’s status for the season opener, they’ll need to ramp up his workload in practice.
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy should have an update on Prescott’s shoulder later this week.
