Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has barely participated in training camp this summer due to a training camp. But will he be healthy enough to play in the NFL season opener against the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
On Sunday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed Dak Prescott’s status for Week 1 at Raymond James Stadium. Jones asserted that Dak is “good to go” thanks to a solid week of practice.
“He really turned it loose and was none the worse for it,” Jones declared.
That said, Jones doesn’t seem inclined to let Dak play in today’s preseason finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Given that it’s just an exhibition game, it wouldn’t be a great test for Dak anyway.

Dak Prescott has not played in an NFL game since Week 5 of the 2020 season. He suffered an ankle injury that abruptly ended his season after he was on pace for numerous career highs.
In Dak’s absence, the Cowboys offense quickly became anemic. The team wound up going 6-10, finishing third in the division and missing the playoffs for the second year in a row.
Dallas quickly tied Dak down in the offseason, signing him to a four-year, $160 million extension. He’s going to be the team’s starter for the foreseeable future.
By the looks of things, Dak is going to start the season under center. But will he be able to play at the same high level as before?
