Jarrett Allen could return for the Cleveland Cavaliers before the start of the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
Jarrett Allen has elected to forego surgery on his fractured left middle finger, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Although swelling on that finger remains, there’s optimism Allen returns for the Cavs ahead of the postseason. There’s no exact timetable for return as of this moment, however.

“Cleveland Cavaliers star Jarrett Allen will not have surgery on his fractured left middle finger, and there is optimism he could return before the end of the regular season, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
“Allen, 23, was deliberating if he would undergo a surgical procedure or allow the finger to heal organically, sources said.”
Cleveland has 12 games left in the regular season. There’s hope he can return at some point in that time frame. There’s obviously a sense of urgency with the playoffs right around the corner.
The Cavaliers are currently 39-29, good for sixth in the Eastern Conference. If the season were to end today, they’d face off against the Philadelphia 76ers. That’s probably a first-round opponent Cleveland would like to avoid.
If the Cavs can climb up to the five seed they’d then play either the Chicago Bulls or Boston Celtics.
