The Jalen Ramsey trade rumors are heating up as his future with the Miami Dolphins remains one of the biggest storylines of the 2025 offseason. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports “there’s more interest in Jalen Ramsey than people realize,” and a trade is likely to be executed post-June 1 due to salary cap logistics.
Jalen Ramsey Trade Rumors: Rams, Raiders, Falcons, Bengals All Potential Landing Spots
Ramsey’s Contract Creates Delay
Ramsey signed a three-year, $72.3 million contract extension with Miami in September 2024. The hold-up isn’t draft compensation—Miami is reportedly content with receiving as little as a fifth-round pick. The issue is the cap hit. A post-June 1 trade would save the Dolphins $10 million compared to a pre-June 1 deal, but it would still leave them with a chunk of dead money.
Teams That Could Be Involved In The Jalen Ramsey Trade Rumors
- Los Angeles Rams: Still searching for a true number-one cornerback. The Rams have youth in the secondary but lack a proven lockdown presence. Ramsey already knows the scheme as he spent four years with the Rams and won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2022. Ramsey would immediately step in as a leader and starter.
- Las Vegas Raiders: The Raiders are thin at outside corner, especially after cutting Jack Jones. Their defense struggled to contain elite AFC West offenses, and Ramsey would provide experience and physicality on the boundary.
- Atlanta Falcons: Atlanta’s defense could use a veteran presence in the secondary. While A.J. Terrell is solid, the Falcons lack depth and consistent production at corner. Ramsey has a close relationship with Falcons head coach Raheem Morris, who coached him in Los Angeles, and would bring leadership and versatility under new defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich.
- Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals are retooling on defense and lack a dependable veteran at cornerback. Ramsey would give them flexibility and elevate a young, developing secondary, especially in high-pressure situations. Money may be an issue as the Bengals are also working to extend star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.

Ramsey is Still A High-Level Performer
Ramsey started every game in 2024, and despite non-flashy numbers, he still had two interceptions with 11 passes defended. He remains one of the most physical and instinctive corners in football. The seven-time Pro Bowler has the ability to match up with elite receivers still makes him one of the league’s most valuable defensive backs.
