Over the weekend, it was announced that Brown quarterback EJ Perry was joining the Philadelphia Eagles. On Tuesday, however, it was announced that he’s actually heading to the Sunshine State instead.
Perry’s agent, Sean Stellato, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that his client is signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’ll join a team that already has Trevor Lawrence, C.J. Beathard and Jake Luton on its depth chart.
Of course, Perry will have the chance to work his way up the ladder in Jacksonville. His dual-threat capabilities might make him an intriguing option.
After starting his college career at Boston College, Perry transferred to Brown. That turned out to be a wise move on his part.
Perry began his Brown career with promise, tossing 22 touchdown passes in 2019. Unfortunately, he was unable to play in 2020 due to COVID-19.
In his final season of college football, Perry had 3,033 yards, 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also had over 400 yards and seven scores on the ground.
Former Brown QB EJ Perry, who some expected to land in Philadelphia with the Eagles, has decided to sign instead with the Jacksonville Jaguars, per his agent @Seanstellato.

Perry was expected to be a Day 3 pick in this year’s draft, but he ultimately became an undrafted free agent.
The physical tools are certainly there for Perry to make an NFL roster. However, he’ll need the right coaching in Jacksonville in order for him to reach his full potential.
