The Jacksonville Jaguars made a significant roster move on Monday afternoon. The NFL organization has officially released former Alabama Crimson Tide star linebacker Dylan Moses.
The Jaguars gave Moses a chance last year after they signed him as an undrafted free agent. He spent the entire year on the non-football injury list.
Moses was previously a top-rated prospect early on in his collegiate career. However, injuries derailed his NFL trajectory.
Despite the expectation he’d be healthy in time for the 2022 season, the Jaguars are moving on. Jacksonville cut Moses from the roster on Monday afternoon.

When healthy, Dylan Moses was one of the best linebackers in college football at the time. Things really took a downward turn when he tore his ACL in his right knee ahead of the 2019 season. He returned in 2020, but played through pain.
Moses’ NFL Draft stock plummeted, as a result. That came as a surprise to Nick Saban.
“It had nothing to do with what kind of football player he is,” Saban said after the 2021 NFL Draft. “It was based on medical grades by the teams, which, frankly, was a little surprising to me.”
It’s likely Moses will get another shot in the NFL, with the expectation that he’s healthy. It sure would be fun to see him back out on the gridiron.
