This year’s Elite Eight field features some widely-unexpected teams.
With that in mind, it’s fair to say that not many people picked this combination of teams in their brackets this year. In fact, that number is exactly zero.
According to CBS Sports, not a single person who participated in their bracket challenge correctly predicated this eight-team field.

This is the field heading into tonight’s first day of Elite Eight matchups, from highest to lowest seed:
- No. 1 Kansas
- No. 2 Villanova
- No. 2 Duke
- No. 4 Arkansas
- No. 5 Houston
- No. 8 North Carolina
- No. 10 Miami
- No. 15 Saint Peter’s
With St. Peter’s upset win over No. 3 Purdue last night, the Cinderella program becomes the first No. 15 seed in tournament history to earn an Elite Eight berth. They will face off against the No. 8 Tar Heel in a battle of unexpected teams on Sunday evening.
No. 2 Villanova and No. 5 Houston will tipoff at 6:09 p.m. ET tonight, followed by No. 2 Duke and No. 4 Arkansas at 8:49 p.m. ET.
Kansas, the only remaining No. 1 seed, will take on the No. 10 Hurricanes tomorrow afternoon at 2:20 p.m. ET.
