3-time Pro Bowl safety will try to make the team
The Las Vegas Raiders signed safety Jamal Adams as a free agent recently.
Let’s take a closer look at Adams:
Size:
6-1, 213 pounds.
NFL experience:
Adams is entering his ninth NFL season. He is a three-time Pro Bowl player who was the No. 6 overall draft pick in 2017 and was traded from the New York Jets to the Seattle Seahawks and new Las Vegas head coach Pete Carroll in 2020 in a blockbuster trade. Adams played for Carroll for four seasons. Adams has had difficulty staying healthy. He has played a full season just twice and has played a total of 15 games the past three seasons. He was released by both the Tennessee Titans and the Detroit Lions last season.
College:
He went to LSU.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Adams is currently behind starters Jeremy Chinn and Isaiah Pola-Mao. If Adams can stay healthy and he can regain his previous success, he could play a lot in a “big nickel” package and be a top rotational player. Yet, his recent history suggests he is not a sure thing to make the 53-man roster. But Carroll definitely feels good about giving this player another chance.
