Tennis star Genie Bouchard became a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit veteran in 2018.
The Canadian athlete posed for the iconic magazine issue for a second time in 2018. She first posed for the magazine in 2017 and added a second shoot in 2018.
Bouchard opened up following her second shoot with the magazine, admitting that it was easier the second time around.
“It was definitely easier! I was much less nervous this time around. I felt I had experience from my first SI shoot which helped me for this second one. I actually asked MJ to ‘go for it’ more in this shoot because I felt so comfortable,” Bouchard told SI.com.
Bouchard admitted that it took her some time to get used to posing in front of a camera.
“At the beginning of the shoot, it’s always hard — wearing almost nothing definitely makes you feel self-conscious. But the photographer was amazing; he was so nice and supportive — he made me feel comfortable right away. I realized I was there for a reason, and this gave me the confidence to be free and also have fun during the shoot!” she added.
Bouchard has shared some of her favorite photos from her shoots on Instagram.
The 2021 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, which hit newsstands earlier this summer, also featured a notable tennis star.
Naomi Osaka posed for the magazine this year. Photos from Osaka’s shoot can be viewed online here.
