Earlier Thursday afternoon, the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens agreed to a trade that sent a former star college football corner to New England.
The Patriots have reportedly acquired rookie cornerback Shaun Wade from the Ravens. The former Ohio State standout has been productive throughout the preseason.
Wade helped to increase his trade value with a strong showing this summer. He allowed a 0.0 passer rating when targeted and also has one interception.
However, given Baltimore’s depth at defensive back, Wade was going to have a tough time making the roster. As a result, the Ravens decided to get something for the talented corner rather than losing him for nothing.
So, what did the Ravens receive in the trade? According to NFL insider Albert Breer, the Patriots shipped a 2022 seventh-round pick and a 2023 fifth-round pick to the Ravens for Wade.

Wade was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and looked to be the next great defensive back to come out of Ohio State. Entering the 2020 season, he was considered a potential first-round pick.
Unfortunately he struggled and eventually fell to the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft, where the Ravens picked him up.
After only a few months with the team, though, Wade is headed to New England. He’ll provide depth for the Patriots, who are in desperate need of help in that area.
He and the Patriots open the season against the Miami Dolphins on September 12.
