Former MLB Player Accused Of Sexually Assaulting His Daughter

A former Major League Baseball player has been accused of sexually assaulting his daughter.

Juan Encarnacion, a former MLB outfielder, has been accused of committing sexual assault against his daughter, the attorney general’s office in the Dominican Republic’s National District confirmed.

ESPN first reported the news of the disturbing charges.

Encarnacion, 45, played in the majors from 1997-2007. He won two World Series championships with the Marlins and the Cardinals.

According to the girl’s mother, the alleged assault occurred in May.

The prosecution argues that Encarnacion, 45, entered the room of the minor while she was sleeping and touched private areas of her body, committing the sexual assault for which he is accused.

The prosecution’s accusation formally establishes that Encarnacion’s actions violated numerals 1 and 2 of Article 332 of the Dominican Penal Code, which refer to incest and carry a maximum penalty of up to 15 years in prison.

Encarnacion is unable to be released on bail due to the nature of the charges.

The former MLB outfielder played for the Tigers, Reds, Dodgers, Marlins and Cardinals.
