For 50 years the Fiesta Bowl has been one of the most prestigious bowl games in all of college football. The iconic bowl game just got a little more prestigious by adding a first in the major college bowl games.
According to Darren Rovell of The Action Network, the Fiesta Bowl is partnering with Caesars Casino & Sportsbook in an exclusive sports betting and fantasy game deal. The deal is reportedly the first among the major college football bowl games to include a sportsbook as a sponsor.
The Fiesta Bowl is annually played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Just this year, the state of Arizona legalized sports betting, paving the way for Caesars to get in the door first.
Given that sports betting is still outlawed in states for several of the other New Year’s Six games, it probably wasn’t hard for Caesar’s to make a deal happen. Caesars is already the stadium sponsor for the Superdome in Louisiana, so they’ll have their name advertised during the annual Sugar Bowl as well.

Sports books and casinos are making bigger and bigger inroads into major U.S. sports as the institution becomes legalized in more and more states.
With so many sports books in the U.S. and around the world, it may not be long before the number of sports books sponsoring bowl games reaches double digits.
But if they’ve got the money, the NCAA will gladly accept their business.
