On Monday night, the Kansas Jayhawks and North Carolina Tar Heels tipped off to determine the national champion.
Just a few minutes prior, though, was the moment of the night – at least so far. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band performed the national anthem alongside Tarriona “Tank” Ball and put on a show.
In true New Orleans fashion, they added some flare to the national anthem. Of course, whenever a band tries to do something different with the anthem, some fans don’t like it.
However, the reaction to this performance was overwhelmingly positive.
“If you didn’t see it and hear it, do yourself a favor and check this out,” one fan said.

“That was refreshing. Save it purists. This is NOLA,” said another fan.
