On Thursday night, the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz took the floor for the third game in their Western Conference playoff series.
Once again, the Mavericks stepped on the court without their best player. Luka Doncic continues to recover from an injury he suffered in the final regular season game, but should be back at some point during the series.
In his absence, point guard Jalen Brunson has been a bright spot for Dallas. During Game 2, the former Villanova star exploded for 41 points en route to a 110-104 victory to even the series.
Earlier tonight, he dropped 15 points before he was forced out of the game. Jazz Forward Royce O’Neale hit Brunson with a cheap shot in the back and the point guard had to leave the game.
Here’s the play.

Fans immediately took to social media to call for the NBA to suspend O’Neale for his actions during the first half.
“Royce O’Neal should be suspended for Game 4 for that dirty shove on Brunson,” one fan said on Twitter.
“Royce O’Neal will more than likely be suspended next game. The refs will review it at halftime for sure. Unbelievable how dirty of a play that was,” another fan said.
“If he’s hurt Royce O’Neal needs to be suspended and fined,” said another fan.
It’s clear the fans aren’t happy with O’Neale’s actions on Thursday night.
Mavericks fans will be happy with the score, though, as Dallas holds a 68-51 halftime lead.
