Falcons Agree To Major Contract Extension: NFL World Reacts

May 3, 2022 by The Spun

A general view of the Atlanta falcons stadium.

The Falcons are locking up the big man in the middle of their defense for the foreseeable future. According to a report, Atlanta and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett have agreed to terms on a big contract extension.

Jarrett is getting a three-year deal worth up to $51 million with the Falcons. $34.5 million is fully guaranteed.

Jarrett has spent his entire career in Atlanta, where he’s totaled 359 tackles and 26.5 sacks. He’s an integral piece of the Falcons defense and will spend at least the next three seasons with the NFC South franchise.

“Love to see it! Next step is to build the line around him, which we’re off to a good start with Ebiketie.”

“Happy for Grady. Thought the two sides were heading towards a break up but it’s the right move to keep one of their only remaining fixtures in Atlanta for the foreseeable future.”

“Honestly, I like it. The goal is to revamp the DL and Grady’s the core piece that you can build around.”

“This feels like Grady was waiting to see who gets to line up next to him in the draft, and the extension says he likes what we have moving forward, LET’S GOOO!!,” one fan said.

The Falcons will continue rebuilding and shoring up their defense around Jarrett.
