The Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t been afraid to write a few blank checks to free agents so far this offseason.
Most notably, the Jaguars gave Christian Kirk a four-year deal worth $72 million with incentives to hit $84 million. It makes him the third-highest paid receiver in the NFL.
For ex-Jaguars receivers like DJ Chark, that’s a bit frustrating. He didn’t get an offer from Jacksonville and instead signed with the Detroit Lions.
Seeing other free agents get massive deals from the Jaguars doesn’t sit well with Chark.
DJ Chark said seeing the contracts that JAX handed out to other receivers originally gave him a chip on his shoulder, but said it’s all about the Lions now.
“I want to be around good people.”

“DJ Chark said seeing the contracts that JAX handed out to other receivers originally gave him a chip on his shoulder, but said it’s all about the Lions now,” Pride of Detroit tweeted.
The good news is Chark now gets a fresh start. He could have a bigger role in Detroit playing for the Lions.
Former Detroit Lion Jamal Agnew believes Chark is going to flourish with the Lions.
“Dj is HUNGRY. Detroit is gonna get the best version of him. Can’t wait to watch him flourish! Always love for the city of Detroit too,” Agnew tweeted.

The Jaguars, meanwhile, took a big risk giving Christian Kirk such a massive contract. If he doesn’t become a superstar the contract will be a significant mistake.
