ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown will continue to have consistency at the hosting position.

Sam Ponder, the network’s veteran NFL host, has re-signed with the Worldwide Leader, where she will continue to host the pregame show.

The New York Post first reported the news.

“ESPN “Sunday NFL Countdown” host Sam Ponder has agreed to a new three-year contract for a total of $3 million and change, Sports+ has learned. Her primary role, quarterbacking Countdown, will remain the same. She will add some responsibilities, such as being involved in NFL Draft coverage. ESPN declined comment,” Andrew Marchand reported.

ESPN has reshuffled its Sunday NFL Countdown crew in recent years, but Ponder, Randy Moss, Rex Ryan and others have formed a strong group.

“Best Sunday pregame,” one fan tweeted.

“I’m surprised she isn’t paid more with the kind of money ESPN is paying Buck and Aikman,” another fan added.

It’s been a big offseason for ESPN’s NFL coverage. The network has also added Joe Buck and Troy Aikman for its Monday Night Football coverage.

The 2022 NFL season can’t get here soon enough.

In the meantime, hopefully we’ll have some more crazy offseason moves.
