Alabama linebacker Will Anderson Jr. impressed the football world as a sophomore last season. In fact, he was so productive that ESPN’s Matt Stinchcomb recently compared Anderson to a Hall of Famer.
During an appearance on “McElroy And Cubelic In The Morning,” Stinchcomb compared Anderson to former Miami Dolphins pass rusher Jason Taylor.
“He’s like a long lever guy, with crazy speed,” Stinchcomb said. “He’s more Jason Taylor to me than Derrick Thomas, in that his speed to power, I really don’t know how you do a good job of anchoring against that. Because his first step is so great, that you have to get out of your stance quickly. But then he transitions to power so well, and he’s so long. The most intimidating part is how long his arms are, or how long they look. I don’t know, maybe it’s the sleeves or something.”
Taylor had an exceptional NFL career, racking up 788 total tackles, 139.5 sacks and 46 forced fumbles.

Anderson has a long way to go before he can become the next Jason Taylor, but he showed a lot of promise in 2021.
In 15 games, Anderson had 101 total tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks and three passes defended for the Crimson Tide.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Anderson in the running for the Heisman Trophy next season.
