We’re two days away from basketball Armageddon in the state of North Carolina: Duke and UNC facing off in the Final Four.
The two arch rivals have never met in the NCAA Tournament before. Now, they’ll battle for the right to play in Monday night’s national championship game.
Oh, did we mention that this is Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s final season, so the Tar Heels have a chance to end his legendary career on Saturday? As if this matchup didn’t have enough hype already.
The two teams split their regular season meetings, with Duke dominating in Chapel Hill and UNC returning the favor in Coach K’s last game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. ESPN’s Basketball Power Index has made its updated prediction for the rubber match, and the BPI favors the Blue Devils.
Duke has a 68.5% chance of winning on Saturday, as opposed to UNC’s 31.5% chance, per the BPI.
This Tobacco Road showdown will be the late semifinal this weekend, with Villanova and Kansas set to tip off at 6:09 p.m. ET in New Orleans.
Duke and UNC will get going at approximately 8:49 p.m. ET.
Both games will be televised on TBS.
