Emmitt Smith believes he knows what the problem is with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Hall of Fame running back has been critical of Jerry Jones’ team, which flamed out in the Wild Card round of the postseason this past year.
Smith believes the Cowboys’ problem is mental.
“It’s never been a talent thing with the Dallas Cowboys. It’s always been an execution thing — execution from the standpoint of making the plays when you need to and not beating yourself. And I think our Dallas Cowboys — we keep beating ourselves. And sometimes, we have the tendency to take things for granted because we’re so talented. When you’re talented, you think your talent can overcome a lot of different things. But the game of football is more than just talent,” Smith said in a recent Q&A.

Many Cowboys fans will agree.
“Love 22, the greatest. Strongly agree with “Flags. Penalties at wrong times to give the opposing offense the chance to keep the chains moving.” It was hard for a loyal fan to watch the last playoff loss,” one fan tweeted.
“Greatest running back of all time said it best come on cowboys we need an super bowl this year coming up,” another fan added.
“Preach Emmitt!” another fan added.
Smith isn’t the only one criticizing the Cowboys for the mental aspect of the game, either.
Michael Irvin also believes the Cowboys are lacking in the “will” department.

The Cowboys will hope to contend for another NFC East title in 2022 – and perhaps finally make that deep playoff run.
