We’re at the midway point of the NFL preseason and the injuries appear to be mounting. Last night the Philadelphia Eagles lost their exhibition game against the New England Patriots, and lost a tight end in the process.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Eagles tight end Jason Croom is feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury last night. Per the report, he is undergoing an MRI to confirm the extent of the damage.
Croom was targeted once in last night’s game before going down with his injury. He had to be carted off early in the 35-0 loss to the Patriots.
It may be the second time in two years that Croom’s NFL season ends before it really begins. He was placed on injured reserve before the 2019 season while he was with the Buffalo Bills.

Jason Croom went undrafted in 2017 after playing four seasons at Tennessee. The Buffalo Bills picked him up, but couldn’t do much with him as a rookie due to injuries.
Croom was finally able to make his NFL debut in 2018 and played well in stretches. He finished the year with 22 receptions for 259 yards and a touchdown.
But after the aforementioned injury-shortened 2019 campaign, the Bills waived him just before the 2020 season. Croom managed to latch on to the Eagles but only played one game.
His lone catch of the 2020 season was a three-yard touchdown reception from Carson Wentz.
We wish Jason Croom and swift and full recovery.
