Duke Fans Are Trending During The National Title Game

April 5, 2022 by The Spun

Duke basketball fans.

The Duke Blue Devils just missed out on a chance to compete in the national championship game, and yet, their fan base is trending on Twitter on Monday night.

At this moment, North Carolina has a 40-25 lead at halftime against Kansas. That’s obviously not what Duke fans want to see, especially since their most-hated rival knocked their team out of the NCAA tournament.

Since the Tar Heels have a commanding lead over the Jayhawks, countless sports fans are tweeting about how tough this game must be for Duke fans to watch.

“If you know another Duke fan, please check up on them cause these last 48 hours have been absolutely terrible,” one fan tweeted.

“Duke fans actually convinced themselves that embarrassing them at Coach K’s last home game was UNC’s championship. They have to be crying and throwing up right now,” another fan wrote.

Clearly, Duke is on the wrong end of several jokes this Monday evening.

If North Carolina wins this national title game, it’s going to be a long offseason for Duke.

The second half of the Kansas-North Carolina game will resume on TBS.
