Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald earned his peers’ respect from the moment he entered the NFL in 2014. Although he has already received plenty of compliments over the past few years, it never hurts for Donald to get a bit more recognition from his opponents.
On Wednesday, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr raved about Donald during his press conference. He has the chance to see just how dangerous Donald is this week because the Rams and Raiders have been hosting joint practices.
“Obviously, AD, he can ruin practice if he wants. And there were a couple times he got back there and I had to move out of the pocket, hit the plays — scramble plays,” Carr said. “But he’s a guy that, he’s going to win.”
Carr then took his review of Donald one step further by calling him the best three-technique in NFL history.
“He’s probably the best three-technique to ever play this game. And that’s saying a lot, but I think he’s earned that kind of respect and is starting to get in that conversation as we get older in our eighth year. And he deserves to be in that conversation, and he’s a good player.”
During pressers, Derek Carr admitted he adjusted a play to set up a one-on-one opportunity between Alex Leatherwood and Aaron Donald.
Carr also said he believes Donald will go down the greatest three-technique to ever play.

Donald is a unique talent at the defensive tackle position. Since entering the NFL in 2014, Donald has racked up 357 total tackles, 201 quarterback hits, 131 tackles for loss, 85.5 sacks and 19 forced fumbles.
If he continues to produce at an elite level, Donald might very well go down as the best defensive tackle to ever play the game.
