Coming off an undefeated season, Alabama will be favored to win every one of its games in 2021. But one college football analyst thinks this year will be one team’s time to take down the Tide.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday morning, CBS’ Danny Kanell declared that Texas A&M will beat Alabama this fall. He highlighted the team naming Haynes King as their starter as his biggest reason why.
“Now that King has been named the starter I think this is the year Texas AM beats Bama,” Kanell wrote.
As a true freshman in 2020, King had six rushing attempts for 43 yards. He completed two of four passes for 59 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
While King was a highly-touted prospect, analysts aren’t exactly predicting Heisman honors for him. As a result, Kanell isn’t finding a whole lot of agreement in his comments section.

In the entire decade of the 2010s, the Alabama Crimson Tide lost a grand total of 11 regular season games. Texas A&M was responsible for one of those losses – all the way back in 2012 with Johnny Manziel.
Since then, Alabama has reeled off eight straight wins over the Aggies. All but two of those wins were decided by double digits, and none were by less than a touchdown.
Maybe 2021 will be the year that Texas A&M stuns Alabama. Do you agree with Danny Kanell’s pick here?
