Following a successful comeback campaign, Dak Prescott underwent surgery in February on his left shoulder. On Monday, he put Dallas Cowboys fans at ease with a promising follow-up on his recovery.
Making a public appearance at Walk-On’s restaurant in Las Colinas, the quarterback gave a positive update.
Per The Athletic’s Jon Machota, Prescott said “he’s throwing a couple times per week” and anticipates conducting an unencumbered offseason plan.

Returning from a gruesome ankle injury that cost him most of 2020, Prescott posted 4,449 passing yards and a career-high 37 passing touchdowns last season. Per ESPN.com’s Todd Archer, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy called the non-throwing shoulder injury an “irritant” to his quarterback as the season transpired.
Prescott is on track for a smooth recovery, but he’ll return to a different offense in 2022.
While the Cowboys re-signed Michael Gallup and Dalton Schultz, they released fellow wide receiver Amari Cooper and offensive tackle La’el Collins to save cap space. Wideout Cedrick Wilson Jr. also signed with the Miami Dolphins.
The quarterback addressed those changes and said he’s waiting to see how the final roster shapes out.

Expectations are nevertheless high for the defending NFC East champions, who went 12-5 last season before suffering an opening-round loss to the San Francisco 49ers. A healthy Prescott is essential to improving upon that finish in 2022.
