Jakobi Meyers is not a flashy name in the fantasy industry, but he has been a top-24 fantasy wide receiver the past three seasons. We continue our series of fantasy articles to help you prepare for the 2025 fantasy season and get ahead of the competition. Telling you to draft Bijan Robinson or Justin Jefferson does nothing to make you better as a fantasy player. It is getting the players in the middle to late rounds that smash their ADP or provide uniqueness to your roster builds that will set you apart. Jakobi Meyers, for example, finished last season as the overall PPR WR19 but was drafted as WR54. That is how you win in fantasy football. Meyers is potentially set up again this season.

Jakobi Meyers Gets a Quarterback Upgrade
To begin with, Jakobi Meyers was a top 24 fantasy wide receiver with a quarterback room consisting of Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell, and Desmond Ridder. Say what you want about Geno Smith, but he represents a significant improvement at the quarterback position. In Smith’s last three seasons, he finished as the QB14, QB19, and QB5. Over those three years, he totaled 73 touchdown passes and just over 4000 passing yards per season.
No serious wide receiver threat to Meyers was brought in by the Raiders, meaning he should operate as the Raiders’ WR1. Second-year tight end Brock Bowers will command defensive attention, which should only help Meyers. We see no reason why Meyers should not at least be able to replicate his 2024 season, where he had 87 catches, 1024 yards, and a 20.3% target share. One fantasy nugget is to secure as many of a team’s wide receiver ones as possible on your roster. In a recent Underdog best ball draft, Meyers went in round six at pick 61. He was the owner’s WR4. Meyers is an excellent value there and can easily outperform his ADP.
Meyers Will Play For an Established Coaching Staff in Las Vegas
The Raiders hired former Seattle head coach Pete Carroll to the same position. Carroll, in turn, brought in Chip Kelly to be his offensive coordinator. In the four years Kelly has been affiliated with an NFL offense, they have led the league in pace. With the Raiders forecast to run more plays, the potential should be there for opportunities for Meyers.
Back to the quarterback position, Smith was Carroll’s quarterback in Seattle in 2022 when he had that terrific QB5 finish. Smith posted career highs in touchdown passes with 30 and fantasy points per game with 17.9. If we like Meyers, we must have confidence in the quarterback.
A Consistent Fantasy Performer
From 2022 to 2024, Jakobi Meyers’ average finish was WR24, yet his average ADP over that span was WR57. Meyers has shown a consistent track record of outperforming his ADP. He has increased his fantasy points per game every year since entering the league in 2019, and 2024 was a career best 14.5. Targeting players who outperform ADP remains a key component to winning in fantasy football. Grab Jakobi Meyers in your bestball and season-long drafts, you can thank us at LWOS later!
