Our favorite traditions

Hope you’re all having a fantastic Fourth of July everyone and again, happy birthday to the late, great Al Davis.

This week, for our Tuesday Community Question, who took a turn away from football and Las Vegas Raiders-related topics. Instead, we jumped into the holiday spirit and asked our community members what are some of their favorite Fourth of July traditions.

Sure, it’s a little different, but that’s OK. Again, this is a community and we can share things that can help bond everyone beyond the current on goings and the rich history of the Silcer and Black.

It’s always fun to hear about how people spend their lives.

Here are some of your responses:

Usually head to my aunt’s land in South Dakota to camp, grill, drink, smoke, trip mushies (some of the cousins do), and blow shit up. Unfortunately, it was cancelled for this year. But were still going to my dad’s house for a fish fry from the walleye we caught last week.

For about 15 years my family has gone camping with anywhere from 20-45 other people–we set one campsite as a kitchen, one as a dining room, one campfire site… we’ve got some professional musicians in the group so the campfire jams are epic. Each family takes responsibility for a meal to feed everyone–the rest of the time you just get to chill while the other families take care of food. Now the kids are grown, so this year we adults decided we’re tired of sleeping on the ground. We rented a big house instead!

new tradition this year of Free Food Church in Zayante, Hillbillyland, Santa Cruz Mountains, to have a 4th of July BBQ. Only happens when 4th of July is on a Friday

Christmas Morning
Eat hotdogs and watch fireworks
