The Indianapolis Colts are adding some experience to their secondary. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, they’re finalizing a deal with former Philadelphia Eagles safety Rodney McLeod.
McLeod, 31, has been with the Eagles since 2016. He signed a five-year, $37 million deal with Philly after his time with the Rams came to an end.
In his final season with the Eagles, McLeod had 58 total tackles, four forced fumbles and two interceptions. Even at this stage in his career, the Virginia product can force turnovers at a high rate.
The exact terms of McLeod’s contract with the Colts aren’t available at this time.

With McLeod heading to Indianapolis, the Eagles will have to find another safety to add to their roster at some point this offseason.
Perhaps the Eagles will make a strong offer to Tyrann Mathieu. The two sides met earlier this week.
“There’s a couple of teams that have remained in communication,” NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said. “One of them is the Philadelphia Eagles. And I know there’s been talk of a visit but nothing has been set up to this point between Tyrann Mathieu and the Eagles. So let’s see how long Tyrann Mathieu carries this out.”
For now, the starting safeties for the Eagles are Anthony Harris and Marcus Epps.
