On Saturday afternoon, No. 3 Oklahoma faced off against Tulane in what was supposed to be a blowout victory for the Sooners.
Oklahoma got off to a rocky start in the first quarter and was tied with Tulane at 14 after 15 minutes of play. The Sooners took over in the second quarter and opened up a 37-14 lead at halftime.
And yet, Lincoln Riley and company opened the door back up for the Green Wave in the second half. Tulane outscored Oklahoma 21-3 in the second half and came very close to pulling off the upset.
Thankfully for Sooners fans the Oklahoma defense stood tall. The Sooners walked out with a 40-35 win, but fans are concerned with the team’s performance.
Here’s some of the reaction from around social media.
Oklahoma has given up 35 to Tulane at home. That’s indefensible — pun intended.

Star quarterback Spencer Rattler had an uneven performance. He completed 30-of-39 passes for over 300 yards and a touchdown, but also threw two interceptions on the afternoon.
The potential No. 1 pick in the 2022 NFL draft needs to be much better moving forward if the Sooners want to compete for a national title. So too will the defense, which gave up 35 points to the Green Wave on Saturday.
Next up for Oklahoma is another relatively easy contest against Western Carolina.
